Chianti and the Sangiovese grapes
90% of Chianti wine is made from Sangiovese grapes, a type of grape which is very sensitive to the land from where it is born absorbing, according to the amount of exposure to the sun or of the nature itself of the land, a different scent. It is difficult to find another type of grape that knows how to change its characteristics on the basis of the land where it is born as do Sangiovese grapes.
The "Vernaccia di San Gimignano"
Exclusive wine of the hills of San Gimignano, already known and appreciated since 1200 and at the table of the Medici Family, the Vernaccia of San Gimignano is one among the most finest wines of Tuscany. Wine with a light yellow colour, dry and with a characteristic rather bitter aftertaste, it complements starters and fish and shellfish dishes.

Our advice is to try the "queen" of Tuscany , the Bistecca alla Forentina (Florence T-bone steak), or an excellent dish consisting of game, even better if accompanied by a good Chianti, a Brunello di Montalcino or by other Tuscan wines.
